kaleidoscope: thoughts on hope
Hope functions as a change agent, a facilitator, motivating one in order to materialize their ideal manifestation of personal aspirations; representing the gulf of ‘when’ as opposed to ‘if’. Hope, as an idea, feeling, concept that engages us through our daily minutia while we are fastened tightly to society’s treadmill walking towards a more perfect reality. Unlike treadmills, there’s no timer counting down to make the journey tolerable, by knowing there’s an end, but an indulgent promise of a better tomorrow. As an anathema to death, without hope the only designation is stagnation & destitution: an endless pit of despair & pointless repetition. Without hope, you face the lack of a great gift; penultimates in an endless succession of penultimates. An existence highlighted by merely existing.
